Jun. 4th, 2004 04:14 pmYes, I remember the time I was watching the televised inauguration ceremony for . . . I dunno, one of those fools they've had as governor of Mississippi. Musgrove, I guess. But at least he wasn't Haley Barbour. Anyway. The reason I was watching was that my boss, the director of the honors program at MSU, was speaking. He spoke about the people and places that make Mississippi special--Eudora Welty, Willie Morris, the Delta, Rowan Oak, etc. It was a very tender moment as the secretaries and I sat watching in the honors house. I just wish I hadn't been reading the closed-captioning at the bottom of the screen, for when Dr. White got to the part of his speech that mentioned Tishomingo County, I couldn't help yelling out what the text read: "FISHERMAN GOAT COUNTY?!??!?!?! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Kinda ruined the moment.
