Sometimes I think I am the only one in the world that doesn't see the fascination with "Gmail". I have more than enough space with my ISP and Yahoo Plus accounts.
Well, the Yahoo Plus account costs money (unless you get it free w/ a DSL account like I do). $20/year ain't much, but it's more than free. And it's just nice to be able to have a webmail account that you don't have to worry about logging into every 30 days or filling up your inbox all the time like w/ Hotmail. I don't use my ISP account because I don't want to go through the hassle of changing accounts if I change ISPs; that's part of why I got my own domain. But once I've downloaded my mail to my desktop, it's deleted from the server, so I can't access it from just anywhere. Gmail makes it easy to forward my domain mail, be able to check it from anywhere, and not have to clean it out all the time. No big whoop.
But yeah, most of the excitement is just cuz it's invitation-only right now, probably. Doesn't take much to get people who live on the Internet excited, I guess. =)
i love my gmail account for some of the same reasons...i have yahoo dsl and outlook and if my outlook is connected at home, i can't check my e-mail at yahoo because they've been downloaded and then deleted from the server...so i have my e-mail forwarded to my g-mail and i can check it anywhere...plus i dont have to worry about limitations on how much e-mail i keep and that whole logging into hotmail every 30 days sucks...
How long have you had it? I got mine after a week or so. You don't get an e-mail about it--a link shows up near the top of the page, under the "search mail" box.
