OK, Jane's Addiction is one of my favorite bands ever, but Dave Navarro is a fucking poser. I can't even look at his no-shirt-wearin' muscleboy ass. He makes me ill. I wish sia hadn't deleted her journal; she had a great entry about how fake he is (and she loves the group too).

Anyway, check this out. In an 1991 Guitar World interview, Dave said:

On our first album, Live XXX, there's a cover of "Sympathy For The Devil." And personally--people get surprised and shocked when they hear this, sometimes angry--I hate the Rolling Stones. I always have and I think I always will. I like what they've contributed to the industry, but I would never put on a Rolling Stones record. But did you guys ever get in that trap where you're playing something and you think it's great, and all of a sudden someone starts singing the words to some other song? We ended up singing "Sympathy For The Devil" as a joke, and we played it live and it ended up on the record. I can't believe that one of my least favorite bands is on my first record.

So today I was watching the VH1 '90s thing, and there was Dave and Steve Perkins all over it. And check out what Dave was sporting:



Yes, I'm aware that this probably says absolutely nothing definitively except that I'm a sad man who remembers quotes from 13-year-old guitar mags. But still.

I will always adore Nothing's Shocking. Always. But I don't have much use for Navarro after that..

YES! Indeed!!!! I left out preening, but not on purpose. He is so overly groomed in a dirty way. Is that possible? Too much attention to facial hair sculpting and the vanity just drips off his greasy hair.

It's a shame Carmen Electra is such trailer trash because if she had better self-esteem, she'd have made a much smarter choice then Dave. She seemed like such a nice girl on the Howard Stern show.
