So I finally got to sleep at about 5:15 a.m. I woke up thinking the room seemed unusually bright and it felt like I'd slept more than three hours. Sure enough, looked at the clock and BAM! 10:45. I'd been switching places between the couch and the bed all night, and when I'd leave one place I'd turn off the alarm clock there and turn it on at the other. Well, apparently I missed turning the one by the bed on after my last switch. D'oh. I think I still made it to work by about 11:05. I have great skills when it comes to wetting down my hair to make it look somewhat presentable, throwing on clothes that might even be halfway clean, and rushing out to work. Old hat, don't ya know.
I envy morning people sometimes. I wish I could get up early and have some time to collect my thoughts before having to haul ass.
Actually, I just wish I didn't require so much sleep. I've got it in my head that I need something approaching eight hours of sleep, even though I almost never get it. I usually get in bed in time to get 7 hours and end up getting 5.5 or 6. I guess I should just roll back my expectations and not even get in bed until 2 a.m., but I'm afraid I'd end up just getting 4 hours or something.
Gah. Nothing more boring than reading about somebody else's sleeping habits, huh?

Date: 2004-08-23 12:30 pm (UTC)I used to get about 6 hours a night. I've managed to whittle that down to around 3 most nights now, and I'm none the worse for wear. It's all what you get used to.
And there's also the fact that I hate sleeping. Seems such a useless waste of time.
