Former Mason Lodge down the street from my apartment. Most recently it's been a furniture store.

Hmmmm, I dunno. They may have been run out of town by this new cult.

it's especially creepy considering the tiny tiny place that they're moving from. like there's been this huge upswing in business. *shudder*

I know! Really weird. And that is a huge building to be moving into.

Hmmm, so what's going into their old place, the Kabbalah Center of New Haven?

Hrmmmm, maybe that's why I've been seeing your girls Paris and Esther hanging around the 'hood.

I guess it's not much of a leap from Masonry (free or otherwise), to Scientology.

The Scientology HQ is out here, as you may have heard. The neon sign still stands on Hollywood Blvd. (As seen in the Decline of Western Civilization.)

Would you believe there's an L. Ron Hubbard museum? Yeesh.

I've heard of that. Freaky stuff. And yeah, from one cult to another, huh?

There's a big difference between Scientology and Masons.
I'd wager there's not much that cold be compared between the two actually.
And, in the big picture of things, any religious belief fits nicely into the mold of "Cult"; especially ones that promote Missionaries.

Holy crap. I saw that a few days ago.

That building was BEGGING for some rich nutjobs to do it over as a temple.

I don't think it was ever really fulfilled as a furniture store.

I agree. I'm dying to see what the inside of it looks like. I might have to go on an undercover mission.

I'll go with you. :)
We can hum the Mission Impossible tune, hide behind stuff, and - if we get caught - we'll tell them that we're Alien Secret Shoppers checking up on their customer service skills!
"Aha! You didn't try to upsell me three spiritual levels for the price of two!"

Seriously! The neighborhood took a big enough hit when I moved in, and now this.

Eek! They're following me!
I moved up from St. Petersburg last year.
The Church of Scientology owns half of the next town over, Clearwater.
Oddly enough, Clearwater is also the birthplace of Hooters.

Yep, and they're expanding! I thought it was strange enough that they had the little place down the street in Westville Center, but this place is freaking huge.
