I've never thought Doonesbury was very funny. Is that bad?

I was talking with a couple of people in the kitchen a few minutes ago. Then Laura walked in just in time to hear Mary say, "Spam earrings!" Laura wisely grabbed a cookie and left. I say "wisely" because she avoided hearing Peter's tale of once eating 21 pieces of Spam to win a contest. FRONG.

Mani can't stand Doonesbury. I put it in the same category with Funky Winkerbean and Tank McNamara, that don't make the comics page but are hidden somewhere in the paper and not really worth hunting for. Most of the time I'd rather look at the political cartoons, because they are straight to the point.

Doonesbury sucks! I keep expecting it to be funny, but I can't remember ONE strip that made me laugh.

Exactly! I don't know if I just don't get it, or if it's not really supposed to be funny, or what, but it's just not happening for me. I'd rather read Apartment 3-G or Mary Worth.

Heh. I don't actually like those strips, but I do enjoy clipping them out and posting them on bulletin boards at work so people are confused by them. They stop to read them, sort of look around a little bit, and eventually shuffle off wondering what was so funny.

Man, I haven't done that in years. I should do that tomorrow. It'll be especially funny because, in my department, people will think it might have been posted because of some egregious grammar error, so they'll be looking at it from that angle as well.
