I think the best word that I remember from childhood is "flickded." That's how I like to spell it, anyway. In the fourth grade, I didn't know that it was supposed to be "'flicted," as in "afflicted." I didn't know where it came from, just that it meant "weird" or something like it, and it sounded like it should be spelled "flickded."

Flickded. Boy ya flickded, boy ya flickded.

I thought I had moved to Jamaica when they put me in school in Louisiana after we moved from California.
