Once again, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can eat a bowl of dogballs. Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, and fucking AEROSMITH have been in for years, yet Black Sabbath has been snubbed once more. EARTH, WIND, AND FIRE is in the fucking hall of fame. No Sabbath.

AAHHHHHHHHHHH I'm home early and watching the local news. I should never do this. First of all, I just learned that there's an anthrax scare in Milford, a neighboring town. But that's nothing. I also heard about the return of a missing teen--which, don't get me wrong, is wonderful--but the girl's name is PEPSI SIMMONS. I let loose with a very loud, involuntary wail when I heard that. The neighbors probably think I've been violated.

Ah, but you WERE being violated. By having to live in a world with people who would abuse their parental rights by christening their child after a fizzy drink that rots your teeth.

Regarding Sabbath- even during the Dio/Gillan/Martin years, which admittedly weren't their best, they were better than FUCKING TOM PETTY.

Who's had more of an overall impact on rock? Eh? I dare you to say Ironman isn't a more recognizable and iconic tune than...uh...what did Tom Petty do again?

Right on. I can't wrap my head around the continued exclusion of Sabbath. I wonder if it has anything to do with Ozzy's comments from a few years ago. When they weren't elected one year, he said something to the effect of, "Fuck it--we deserve to be elected, but if we ever are, we're not showing up, so don't bother."

And you're right. So much of their stuff with Ozzy blows my mind, and they deserve recognition just on the basis of that--but they also did some VERY solid stuff with their other singers, even if hardly anybody ever heard it. I'll take Heaven & Hell, The Headless Cross, Dehumanizer, etc., ANY day over just about any Tom Petty material or absolutely anything Aerosmith's recorded in the last 25 years.

I mentioned this to my boyfriend, and he said they actually WERE offered a spot in the Hall, but Ozzy told them to shove it since it was voted on by a panel, rather than fans.
