Date: 2005-05-10 03:18 pm (UTC)The book was Fortress of Solitude by Jonathan Lethem. I read his Motherless Brooklyn a couple of years ago and enjoyed it, so when I saw his next one, I picked it up. TWICE. In my defense, they changed the cover design for the paperback, so I didn't recognize it. :)
