Holy BALLS, one thing I'll definitely miss about New Haven is the apizza. Locals debate Sally's vs. Pepe's, with Modern also getting in the fight, but my favorite is Dayton St. Apizza, which is right in my hood. I just got what might have been the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Margherita--the freshest, best crust you can imagine, mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, garlic, and basil, no sauce--and added Italian sausage. This shit right here will make you slap the mess outta your grammaw, put some ardor in your larder, and even bring about Peace in Our Time. I said god DAMN.





I was bummed to see, though, that the Daily Used and More store next door has closed already. I never even went in there, and I don't guess anybody else did either. But I heard it was kind of a fun store, and I remember watching the people getting it all clean and spiffy for their grand opening. It didn't find a niche, I guess. Damn that.

Haha! I knew I'd get somebody. :) Yeah, definitely try Dayton St. if you're ever in the area--it's at Dayton and Whalley in Westville. Their pizza makes me throb.

Y'all best enjoy that Apizza whilst ya cans, son. Down these here parts you don't find no good home style pizza like dey make in dem thar places like Apizza... God what I wouldn't give for a local "House of Pizza" here in Natchitoches rather than just Pizza Slut or Crummyno's.
