Dane Cook is annoying as all hell. I hate comedians who think they're rock stars and call me "bro."

Amen to that. I hear his early material is funny, but his recent talk-show appearances just annoy the shit out of me.

Ugh, I know. My Tivo recorded his recent HBO special, and it was ridiculous. He had this in-the-round arena setup, and he was running around high-fiving people and crap. Like dude, this isn't the Hysteria tour, it's stand-up comedy.

Where's that Belgian guy with the pies when you need him? ;)

Oh, I missed that post! But yeah, I'm with you. He may be mildly funny from time to time, but I don't know how anyone can get past that cool-guy shit.

Someone in the comments there said that he has awesome delivery, but if you listen to his jokes, you realize that they really suck. It's kind of like that episode of "The Fresh Prince" when all of Will's friends said he should be a stand up comic, but when he actually tried it he failed. Dane Cook fails.

"Bro" and "Dawg" drive me insane.

"I ain't yer bro, bitch," is my standard response.

There's this guy that it felt like every time I got in his car, he was trying to convince me that Dane Cook was funny.

"Wait, wait wait, listen to this song. Wait wait for the end part."

While a few pieces were alright, mostly it was annoying. I couldn't fathom listening to an entire cd of it.

SOOOO with you on that.
I favor comedy cd's during long car rides (VA Beach) because if you get an hour long show you're one hour closer to your destination.

aaaaaaaanyway, I made 3 dane cook cd's before we left. I never heard any of his stuff before we left but heard really good things about him so I thought it would be good. NOOOOOOOOOOO. it was 3 hours of crap. and it made it feel like 6 hours worth of my life had gone by.

down with dane.
up with dave chappelle. you never go wrong with his stuff.

I need to get some Chappelle standup for the car. Love the show, but I haven't heard much of him outside of that.

Carlin's my old standby, especially his stuff from the '70s. I can recite it backward and forward, and it still kills me. =)

carlin....GOOD CALL!
I was wondering who I was gonna download for VA Beach pt. 2 next week. carlin is awesome I just never would have thought of him. I was scraping the barrel last year with andrew dice clay. I must say, 40 too long was REALLY funny though.

Chappelle's stand up is much funnier then his show.

I liked Dane Cook when he first came out. he had more of a nerdy slant then and somehow he decided he was cool these past years.

A new comedian I like is Kyle Cease. He's okay. I love David Cross and I'm waiting for his next word with baited breath.

I'll check out Kyle Cease if I can. I'm kind of ignorant of any new standups.

Yeah, I have a friend who used to be a big Dane Cook fan, and she says his early stuff is much better.

I still dig his first two albums, but he's definitely getting old. I get the feeling he's just a one-trick pony who's somehow still famous way after the novelty has worn off, thanks to his frat-boy/ sorority-girl fanbase. His last comedy special was pretty much unwatchable.. but the crowd was eating it up.. Cheering for shit that wasn't even a joke. Have some godamn standards people or this shit is never gonna stop.

Exactly. That drooling fanboyism just fuels that cooler-than-thou attitude he has. I was disgusted at that special.

He is SO SO SO SO SO overrated, ugh, I can't stand him...don't find him funny AT ALL.

by the way, I only (meaning a day ago) discovered who Dane Cook is...I hate him. I hate him REAL bad.

Hell yeah! I hate him and his assface.

He's not funny, at all. He talks too much about sex which makes me want to throw up all over myself. And I physically feel ILL when he pretends to masturbate.
