Feb. 24th, 2007 11:09 pmI decided to check the movie listings tonight to see if there was anything I might be able to abide, and lo and behold, Perfume was playing at the $2 theater! I'd really wanted to see the movie because I loved the book, but I didn't figure it would come anywhere near here. And then it shows up at the ghetto two-dolla theater. And it WAS a two-dolla theater freal. Crappy sound, seats about eight inches wide, sticky floors, cold popcorn--but it was worth braving because I ended up loving the movie. I'd heard it was good, but I still couldn't believe how well it captured the essence of the book. It's an extremely fucked-up movie, which is as it should be. :D
I came out of the theater, and the wind was going crasy, and still is. I think we've got another official tornado threat or something. Maybe we'll get hail the size of canned hams.

Date: 2007-02-25 06:20 am (UTC)I dunno what's going on w/ the tornados, though! I do seem to remember that this time of year is when a lot happen around here, though, and I think Tuscaloosa gets a good number of them--more than we ever did 90 miles east of here in Starkville, anyway.
Ah well. Maybe one'll pick me up and take me to the Land of Oz.
