Gordo goats, gourds

This was what I saw on the side of the highway in Gordo, AL, today at the little roadside stand where I sometimes stop for boiled peanuts. I've no idea what the goats were doing there. Not to mention the dog.

haha! Gordo's not much more than that. Its only reasons for existing are hosting the annual Mule Day and Chicken Fest and functioning as a speed trap.

what does one do with a gourde, tho??? do you eat this type? I have to google, now. (and does this make me a bad southerner for not knowing?!)

I dunno either! Well, I did read one time about a tribe in Indonesia that wears gourds on their dicks. But we don't do that in Alabama.

But really, I have no idea! I guess they're ornamental? Those things are awfully ugly to be used for decoration, though. Maybe they're goat food?!?

Oooh, always disappointing when the boiled peanuts aren't up to par. I need to get some raw peanuts and make some myself. So tasty!
