I know! He should lead the marching band in "Don't Fear the Reaper." (They actually played that at a game I attended last year, but nobody seemed to pick up on the significance.)
One of the things that has always left me feeling like I have been the victim of a subtle injustice is the fact that I was never able to ring a cowbell at a State game. As you may recall, when we were chirren growing up in the Stark Village, we experienced the joy of the very unique and overwhelming sound of thousands of variously tuned bells clanging - a wave of cow-college morale. Before we came of age and were bestowed a token of our rite of passage, a reward for scoring at least 18 on the ACT, our very own carefully painted and be-decal'ed cowbell with bicycle handlebar grip, the villains at the SEC pillaged our birthright and denied us the chance to truly be Bulldogs.
Going to a State game lost something important then and there. It would be like being in Tuscaloosa and never hearing ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL TIDE! And, having been in that massive stadium at T-Town, I can attest, as can you perhaps, that the roar of the Bama crowd THERE is far louder than the clang of the cowbells at State. It is an increasingly unjust persecution of Bulldog culture to persist in banning the bells.
