Just mailed my frackin' MS tax return. The little branch post offices around here are all closed, so I had to go to the main New Haven post office, which on this little curvy two-lane road down near the water, right at an I-95 ramp. Not exactly easily accessible. Especially when there are two hundred and fifty thousand fucking people all trying to mail their tax returns. It was a major freak zone. Traffic was backed up everywhere. People stood around wearing sandwich boards reading, "TAXATION IS THEFT." Green Party representatives handed out tracts. Some radio station even had a truck there; I guess they were broadcasting live from the scene. I looked around and thought, "This is buttfucked." I felt the need to inform people of this fact, so as I was driving away, I screamed at everyone, "THIS IS BUTTFUCKED."

Of course, what's really buttfucked is the fact that I waited until the last minute to do my stupid little Mississippi tax return.

BWAHAHAHA! funny. the growling guy story is funny too.
I know.........I mean FUCK, we are paying TAXES?
Aren't they making enough money today to have every post office open until 12?
Or at least have a collection box at every post office that, as long as deposited before midnight, will have a April 15th postmark?

No shit! I couldn't believe it when I found the other POs locked down. In other towns I've lived in, there wouldn't be anyone working the counter, but you could go in and drop your stuff in the slot and they'd postmark it April 15. Not these jokers, though.

What would be the penalty if you filed late? $2, maybe? I wouldn't sweat it. I've noticed that the state tax folks aren't nearly as hardcore as the IRS. Hell, my 94-year old Grandma still has to pay taxes to the DC bozos. (She owed nothing to the state this past year.) Those bastards would make dead people pay taxes if they could. Don't think they haven't tried. :)

Yeah, I probably should have just dropped it in a box and forgotten about it. The whole thing seems so weird -- not only do you have to pay all this money, but you have to do all the work of figuring out your bill yourself!

I think it's the equivalent of, "Well we'd kick you in the groin, but we're running short-handed. Do it yourself and write a 3-page report on it by morning."

Have you ever thought about the notion of having a tax-free zone? We could use Oklahoma. Anybody who wanted to live in a place with no public services and no taxes could go live there. We'd charge them a tariff to leave. Can you imagine? A land full of:

66% bible-thumping rednecks
23% escaped convicts
7% anarchist nuts
4% grave diggers
1 Bobby Fisher
