It appears that, in order for the air-conditioning to be turned on, we have to call someone in another building and have her call maintenance to come out and turn it on. I don't want to complain too much, because I'm definitely glad that warm weather is here, but that's kinda messed up, no?

I don't think it would help. I think they've finally been notified, but apparently, they have one crew that has to go to each building on campus and turn each a/c system on. This is a university, after all -- can't have people deciding for themselves when to turn on the air conditioning, now can we?
