Jul. 28th, 2003 12:22 pmI hate the term "vis-a-vis"--so much so that I'm not even going to bother putting in the right accents. Ugh. To be completely honest, I hate the French language, period. Two years in high school and one aborted college semester put me right off it. I couldn't pronounce it, I couldn't get the accents straight, and I couldn't get past the fact that "avocat" means lawyer and avocado.
So for some reason I took German instead, and I didn't find it hard at all. But it just left me after I finished my fourth semester. I can't remember anything. And the infuriating thing is that I can sorta kinda have some idea what's going on when I look at French, maybe even more so than German. Unless someone's talking about getting his avocado on the phone.

Mom forwarded me an e-mail that my stepbrother Grimmett sent his dad. (This is the one in Texas, not Fool of the prodigious rap sheet.) Sounds like he's doing pretty good. He and his girlfriend have just moved to Austin from Denton. I think he'll dig it the most. It's been years since I was in Austin, but it's a great town, and I'm sure I don't even know the half of it. So I was glad to hear that. And now I have his e-mail address (don't think he had one until recently!), so I'll be able to harass him.
Heh. Check this picture of me, Grimmett, and the Grinch. This was Christmas 2000. I hadn't seen Grim since like the summer of '94, I think! It was funny because when he left I seem to remember that he was fairly clean-cut and wore a lot of nice clothes. (This was after being scruffy like the rest of us.) So the next time I saw him, he looked like this! Which is cool, fine, dandy, and whatever--I have no problem with it at all, and in fact I get a kick out of it. It was just kind of a shock. :) He's making a face here; he doesn't normally look like a deer caught in headlights!

Here's a funny one of Grimmett and his dad.

Jul. 28th, 2003 01:52 pmYeah, these look like some good stomachache remedies. Except I'm fresh out of shah-jeera, asafoetida(hing), and ajwain. And the last thing I want to think about when I have "loose motions" is curds. (Whatever they are.)
Butt hey, maybe I can "tame my poopies" at "the first sing of a bowel movement." Except mine don't sing.
I'm sorry. Really I am.

Jul. 28th, 2003 05:59 pmDamn, I feel bad for talking shit about Jammie the Clown now. Remember that whole thing? I'll never be able to express how freaked out I was for a couple of minutes. Something about the state of my brain at that moment made me think that the two pictures looked just alike. I thought I was gonna go down at the hands of Jammie the Gentle Clown. Really.
