OK, you missed one for the "yard sale" thing --

In our state of hippiness, we call them lawn experiences, thank you very much for stopping by. :P

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to ask about that! My grandmother has this funny little friend who lives down the street. Probably 90 years old and all of about 4'10". She calls eggplants "vegetable eggs," and she is the ONLY person I've ever heard say that. She's a peculiar one. She also calls cantaloupes "mushmelons"--which, it turns out, is somewhat common, but the first time she asked me if I wanted some mushmelon, I thought it was some kind of strange come-on or something.

Since I'm mildly allergic to melons, I never paid a lot of attention, but when I was a kid there was something called a "musk mellon" in the stores in the summertime.

Is that the same thing or a different beast alltogether?

Not sure. My mom says that there's something called a mushmelon, but it's different from a cantaloupe. But I was just looking around online, and it seems that muskmelons and cantaloupes are the same thing. So I dunno! Maybe there's muskmelon/cantaloupe and then there's mushmelon.

Yeah, mushmelon I've heard, but not vegetable egg.

I just don't think you should make me choose between "tallywhacker" and "wangdoodle" because I find them equally enjoyable to say. Both make me giggle like a girl.

I have sure missed you.

oops, when I said 'on' I ment 'in'...and yeah, I did mean "A dry, often sandy region of little rainfall, extreme temperatures, and sparse vegetation." :)

Earlier today I came up with the word "shitaroon". I guess it's a variation on Bugs Bunny's "What a maroon" or "macaroon".

You forgot:

a.) scooter pie
b.) moon pie

The yard sale/garage sale thing is a pet peeve of mine. Most people call them garage sales around here, but most people tend to set up this sales in their front yards or driveways, although they still put out a big sign that says "garage sale." It's not a garage sale unless you're actually having it in the garage, people!
