Dammit. I went in the wrong place for lunch and came out with that "Oh what a night, blah blah blah blah blah blah 1963" song in my head. It's snakes all up in it.

So to cleanse my palate, I am listening to Accept. This song is one of the many reasons that I love Accept so. Please make me happy and listen to this song.

"Son of a Bitch"

You make the stars
Illusions and dreams
You’re what you are
D’you know what I mean

I hear you clear
See in your eyes
Lying to please
It pleases to lie

You say it’s your way
You say we’ll make it
Right to the top
Your bullshit gets me
What have you got

I don’t believe
A word you say
You make me laugh
Get outta my way

You say it’s your way
Now listen to what I think of you:

Son of a bitch
Kiss my ass
Son of a bitch
Son of a bitch
You asshole
Son of a bitch
Cock suckin’ motherfucker
I was right - take this: uuaah

Son of a bitch, ...

Cut you three times below the ass--too short to shit
Two timing son of a dog

Indeed. I think the thing that really drives it home is the little neoclassical bit they do right before Udo comes back in with "COCK SUCKING MOTHERFUCKER."

Oh what a night

>>Ack! I had that piece of shit in my head the other week. I blame those damn songs of the 60s compilation album commercials.

Fast as a Shark has a great "aaaaaa!" at the beginning. Hee.

Heck yeah! I listened to that today too. That whole Restless and Wild album is the bomb diggity. Or something like that.

Your co-workers don't mind when you rock out, or does your office have thick walls?

No way I could get away with speakers--we're in one big, open room, and there's at least one woman who would strangle me to death if she heard Accept blaring, even though she's the one who spits out expletives about every twenty minutes for all to hear.

So yeah, it's headphones all the way for me. :)

Jesus Chrrrrist I hate that "Oh what a night" song. My mother used to listen to it all the time when I was around 8 years old and it would drive me insane.

Turn down the suck!

Gah! I know--I'd never really thought anything about it until today, when I was overcome with its insidiousness. And I'd always figured it was from the mid-'70s or so, but it turns out that it's from like 1963. So it's not just suck, it's ahead-of-its-time suck!

I think my mother was listening to some even more gawd awful remake that some other crappy band did of the song during the early to mid 1990's. And to think this was the same woman who introduced me to Ugly Kid Joe at age 8...

Ethne was diggin' 'Son of a Bitch' though. she started boppin' her head up and down and stompin' around as it played. haha!

All opinions are cheerfully acknowledged here at Flea Villa. But that's quite an ear young Ethne has. :) \m/

is it just me, or does the singer sound like the guy from ac/dc? i mean the guy singing "son of a bitch", not the one from "oh, what a night".

Heh--yeah, he's definitely got that high-pitched gravelly thing going on. But he's a German midget, which makes him all the cooler!

Is he shorter than Ronnie James Dio?

Hrmmm, not sure. I just found something that says Udo is 5'3", but I can't find anything on Dio. How tall do you figure he is?

I forget where I read it, but I thought he was 5'0" or 5'1".
