So I went out at lunch today to get a haircut. Between the place I went and where I work is a TGI Friday's. When I passed, I saw this sign:



Holy shit, I thought--when I come back, I'm seeing what that's all about. So I got my haircut, wept over all the gray hair in my lap, and headed back toward work. I turned in the Friday's lot, drove to the light by the sign, stopped, and rolled down the window. A woman came over, told me she was a union carpenter opposed to Friday'ses' practices about such and such, and handed me a flyer.

"Thank you," I said. And I handed the woman a Chick collage. "Oh, thank YOU!" she responded.

It's all over. I'm one of those people.

I don't have a story for this because I don't know the story. This is right down the street from my apartment.

Speaking of lousy food, I noticed in your link that you eat at the Bulldog Burrito. Is it better than when it was "the Mexicali Grill" or do you just have a strong stomach for bad burritos? :)

I'm not sure I ever ate there when the other owners had it--maybe once, but I don't remember anything about it. Anyway, it's decent. Not as good as the Roomba cart, but you don't have to eat your burrito while walking down the street, either. :)

so the ownership did change? i thought they'd just changed the name to try to draw in yale business. maybe i'll have to try it some time. you used to be able to get these obscenely large burritos there.

yeah, there is something to be said about sitting down to eat.
