Crimeny! Our assistant to the director lives next door to me, and this morning I went out to the car to find her out there talking to a policeman. Turns out someone had keyed "KKK" into the hoods of both her family's vehicles. !!! Apparently they have a young black man staying with them, and he has a white girlfriend. I guess someone took offense to that. That's, like, scary and shit. And of course I immediately thought, jeez, this is Alabama?!? But I grew up ninety miles from here in MS, and I never knew of anything like that ever happening--well, once in high school, but one time in 30 years could happen anywhere. But fucking hell, mate. What in the dogfuck?

i think it was about three years ago. it was probably an act of hooliganism moreso than a bigger, organized thing-- you know, a couple of 17-year-old degenerates, richland style.
