A woman just called me and asked, "Do you all ever publish books that contains fiction poetry?"

Was it wrong of me to hang up?

I got Chinese food today, and it ruled hardcore. It competes with my favorite place in New Haven, which surprised me.

My fortune said that I would soon enjoy a wonderful trip. Where'm I goin', folks? Please tell me.

I've noticed some people being really excited about Poison shows this summer. WTF? I mean, yeah, I liked some questionable bands back in the '80s (*coughvinnievincentinvasioncough*), but POISON? But hey, whatever fluffs your mullet.

Someone should do a sick industrial version of "Every Breath You Take." It's got a riff that you could make heavy, it has creepy lyrics, and believe it or not, I can hear big, heavy drums behind it. I should do it meself.

I just wanna give it up for Biggie.

Oh, look at this cover of a book we're publishing. Is that shit not frightening? It's gonna give me baby makeup platypus nightmares. It's already made my gonads shrivel up. Kid looks like Divine in diapers. *shudder*

fear it

Dude. Your entire post is so satisfying I feel like I just ate a snickers bar.

And for the love of all things decent in the world, that picture belongs behind an lj-cut. And in a dumpster. AND NEVER EVER ON A BOOK COVER!

"Do you all ever publish books that contains fiction poetry?"

HAHHAHAHAHAHHA!

I'm all about the satisfyin'!

I thought about cutting it, but I figured that if I had to look at that abortion, the rest of y'all should too. That's what friends is for!

And yeah, that whole cover is just fearsome. From the baby of death to the platypus to the color straight off a '70s-ass refrigerator, it's just FOUL. (And BTW, we didn't do this book in-house; we're really just distributing it. But still, shit.)

ahhhhhh

I feel like I just laughed my guts out.

I know! Visit here! :D Or better yet, build a teleporter so I can down there, yo.

I want to! Maybe in the fall I can string together enough bread to catch a weekend special or somesing. In the meantime, I'll start chatting up some of the local crazies to see if they can score a teleporter. ;)

oooh, fall would be best! awesome!

hmm. the crazies there MIGHT know about a teleporter, but they'll probably convert you first to worshipping baby jesus of the tin can communication congregation. and make you watch nascar.

You want to go on a trip? I think the people who designed that cover are on some kinda trip right now. ;)

Ha! I admit that I also liked a few Vinnie Vincent songs. I never did like Slaughter, though. Believe it or not, I'm seriously considering a Y&T concert in about 10 days. Damn, how old are those guys now, anyway? I hope they don't have arthritis. Hee.

No kidding! Goddamn experimental fiction and their wacky covers.

Yeah, that first Vinnie album had some pretty good (albeit ridiculous) stuff on it. The second one, not so much. And Slaughter, ugh! Gimme Cryptic Slaughter any day.

Haha! I used to own Stream of Consciousness. I could've sworn it was recorded in mono except for one drum fill.

I think you'll appreciate this:

I wish I could find one of their Mutants for Nukes t-shirts. I should've bought it when I had the chance.

Gotta love Nuclear Assault! Somehow I never got around to listening to all their stuff, but they were great. We used to cover "Brainwashed" in Dry Heave, and it was so much fun to play.

I think that is the Second Coming of Divine.

The platypus is to remind us that Gawd got a sense a humor.

Don't let that turn you against baby-makin'. I know you will never marry somebody who goes Mary Kay all over your younguns.

I saw the *coughvinnievincentinvasioncough* once. They opened for someone. Maybe Judas Priest or Iron Maiden or something.

I was Vinnie Vincent's publicist once! For about five minutes! Five very trying minutes.

Haha, I remember! Hey, I was just reading up on Vinnie a little bit, and Gene says he was fired from KISS for "unethical behavior." Whuzzat mean--any idea?

Christ. Between the Reintarnation of Divine (great call on the resemblance, BTW) and that guitar, I need an eyewash station full of bleach.

And the woman who asked about the poetry is probably a bastard child.

LOOK WHAT THE CAT DRAGGED IN, BABY!

*ahem*

Those poor boys are just about reduced to playing county fairs at this point, but you know, I saw them at Jones Beach roughly five or six years ago (I think six, actually) and they rocked it out old-school. I'd totally go see them again.

But then I always have had a terrible weakness for skinny boys in tight pants and ill-advised mascara. Though Brett Michaels? Looks 300% better than Nikki Six. Yes, I saw the Crue in concert, too (Tommy Lee was locked up so I missed out on him, so sad), *and* Def Leppard. And also Aerosmith and Bon Jovi.

Bon Jovi is also a hell of a show, it really is. It was truly awe-inspiring to hear an entire *stadium* (Giants Stadium, at that) full of people singing "You Give Love A Bad Name" and I do mean the whole thing, not just the chorus.

also, the book cover, it is terrifying.
