Date: 2008-02-26 03:52 pm (UTC)The weird part, to me, is that they spent a significant amount of money on at least one if not two 4x8' vinyl signs to promote a 4-week sermon series. But, evangelical churches are known to spend a lot of money on image. Works, too. Their numbers are massive versus the more staid denoms.
The use of the Addams Family imagery is most likely to attract attention, but it's a pun on a couple of levels, if it must be admitted. Theologically speaking, we're all creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky (altogether ooky) because of the effect of original sin on humanity.
